52 With A View: Middle Sugarloaf

Tuesday, May 19, 2026 - This is a zoomed-in map of the New Hampshire "52 With A View" - only 12 left (yellow). I'm going to hike Middle Sugarloaf today:

I started the day with a nice hike on Singing Beach:

I left home after breakfast. Although it hit 92° going through Conway, I was IMPRESSED by what I saw up on Mount Washington:

The Trailhead is WAY UP There (just beyond Bretton Woods Ski Area). I parked at the trailhead at 1:30, and got dressed (NO DEER TICKS around here!):

Um, the "Real Trail" starts ahead, over the bridge. I kind-of got distracted by the "Other Trail" that was right in-front of my parked car, and spent 10 minutes out-and-back on this rogue trail. It was a nice warm-up:

As I said, to get to the "Real Trail", go over the bridge:

The trail goes alongside the Zealand River for a little bit, before branching up The Mountain:

Very nice trail going up, for a little less than a mile (follow the Yellow Blazes):

You head left along the ridge-line:

The open-ledges span just about 180°, from the southeast to the northwest - really Very Cool:

Cool Rocks on the way down:

I splashed water on my head back down at The River:

I finished The Hike at about 3:30 - 3.2 miles in 1 hour 40 minutes:

Very Nice Hike - GREAT START for this season's hikes! Thank You God for this Wonderful "52 With A View" day!

For my listening pleasure today - I started with WHRB (Harvard Radio) = The Jazz Spectrum:

Then when I hit the highway: U2 - singles, my collection I ripped in 2004, last heard (in a blog) never:

The Rolling Stones - It's Only Rock 'N Roll, 1974 album, last heard (in a blog) 8/11/2021 - SOUNDS GREAT:

The Byrds - Fifth Dimension, 1966 album, last heard (in a blog) never:

Ron Carter - The Golden Striker, 2003 album, last heard (in a blog) never - nice jazz album:

The Firesign Theatre - Bride of Firesign, 2001 album, last heard (in a blog) never. I'm glad I heard it, but I don't need to ever hear it again:

Jerry Garcia Acoustic Band - Almost Acoustic, 1988 live album, last heard (in a blog) never. I like Jerry's 1st album, but every album since then is JUST SO BORING!!! The last cut (live version of "Ripple") is very good, and I will tack it onto the end of my copy of Jerry's 1st album (as a Bonus Track):

The Rolling Stones - Tattoo You, 1981 album, last heard (in a blog) 8/25/2019 - SOUNDS GREAT on the HIGHWAY!!!
